Lori Charett, Reiki Master

My path to becoming passionate helping people and animals started with a life long love of animals and strong desire to help my own rescued animals overcome anxiety, fear and trauma from their past and live a happy, balanced life. Growing up in Connecticut around several dogs and exploring the outdoors, I developed a passion for all living creatures and great respect for mother earth and her inhabitants which led me toward my first career as a Park Ranger. My career took me to San Diego, California where I enjoyed 23 years of living and learning about it’s diverse population, environment, culture and holistic health methods.

While in San Diego, I adopted dogs from shelters that were extra special, which led me to immersing myself in learning reputable rehabilitation methods so I could help my dogs learn to be balanced, confident and happy. I adopted Ranger who came to me with a multitude of issues but his severe separation anxiety was what ultimately led me to Reiki. Admittedly, I was skeptical but I was also desperate to help him after all other traditional methods failed. I had to give Reiki a chance and I am so glad I did! I took Ranger to his Reiki sessions weekly for quite a while, his trauma from his previous owner ran deep.  If I hadn’t witnessed Ranger’s response and the results from his Reiki sessions, I don’t think I would have believed it! Because Ranger’s issues were deeply rooted and took time to develop, it also took time for him to overcome them but with Reiki, he did. During that time, I saw first hand how effective Reiki was, Ranger loved his sessions and evolved into a well balanced, confident, and happy dog as a result.

When I moved from the west coast to southwest Virginia, the move ignited some of Rangers separation anxiety. To add to his insecurities, he suffered some trauma from another dog, At that point, I knew I needed to seek out Reiki for him (again). That is when my Reiki journey began. Over the course of several years, working through the levels of Reiki training, I have achieved the level of Reiki Master. Sadly, Ranger since passed on, but I will forever be grateful to the challenges Ranger presented me as he led me on this beautiful journey that has opened my world to so many opportunities and lessons.

I think of myself as a wellness facilitator who has a passion for holistic modalities that work with the body to help people and animals achieve balance in mind, body, spirit and soul. I believe every being has the inherent ability to heal themselves, they may just need support, guidance and means to do so. While on this journey, I have immersed myself in learning and applying holistic methods to supporting and enhancing the immune system, whole body detoxification, incorporating Reiki and other energy balancing means to facilitate wellness.

I have felt the need to share what I have learned, invest in equipment, and help others in their health journey and be the support system I feel so many lack. I feel like I was placed on this path for a reason, and I need to share the information and lessons learned to support people and animals on their journey to wellness.

I look forward to you joining me on this wellness journey!
