Reiki

“Reiki is Love, love is wholeness, wholeness is balance, balance is well being, well being is freedom from disease.”

— Dr Mikao Usui

What is Reiki:

Many people have heard the word Reiki but are not really sure what it is or isn’t. The system of Reiki is a method of working with energy that allows the body to clear itself, leaving one feeling lighter, healthier and happier. Furthermore, Reiki is completely safe!

Reiki, the word is Japanese meaning ‘spiritual (Rei) energy (ki)’ It has also been described as meaning ‘Universal Life Force Energy.’

Although the word Reiki has its own unique meaning in the Japanese language, the same word has been adopted throughout the rest of the world to represent a healing system; the system of Reiki. “The system” refers to a Japanese system created by Mikao Usui in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The original system was spiritual development, but in modern times the emphasis has evolved as a system of energetic balancing which uses specific Japanese meditative practices and breathing techniques.

Everything that is alive contains Ki and radiates it, but the person who has received the Reiki attunements or initiation has their body’s energy channeled in a way that connects them to the Universe’s limitless source of Ki. The Reiki Practitioner now has unlimited access to the life force energy for their own wellness and is also a channel for transmitting this energy to others.

Reiki is energy balancing in its truest sense. When the Reiki practitioner channels this life energy through their hands to the recipient, it activates the body’s natural ability to relax, open chakra’s and meridians, return to balance and facilitate wellness. The energy goes to the deepest levels of the recipients being, where illnesses and traumas have their origin.

Reiki is a holistic way of bringing support to the immune system, relief to acute and chronic conditions and facilitating spiritual, mental and emotional well being. Reiki is suitable for most people, animals and walks of life including the very young to elderly, pregnant women, those recovering from surgery and it can bring comfort and ease to the transition between life and death. If you are in good health, Reiki will help you stay that way.

Reiki never does harm, it works independently of any religion or spiritual belief system.
